How batch resize images in Ubuntu

If you need to batch resize images in Ubuntu there are solutions around but everything I tried failed to hit the mark.

I then bumped in to a nautilus script that fitted the job perfectly.

What is even better, is that in order to resize you can either select one image or highlight all images in a particular folder and just run the script.

A new folder is created inside the folder with your resized images.

1) To install the script download this file by going to http://www.techheadz.co.uk/resize_image.txt

2) Save the file as resize_image.sh

3) Move the file to the following folder Username/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts

4) Right click on the resize_image.sh file and set permissions to read and write for everything. Also check the Execute box

5) Log out and Log back in to Gnome

6) Locate your photos, select all

7) In the file menu select Scripts >> resize_image.sh

8) A pop window will appear. Select what you would like your images to be resized too and click OK

9) Your photos will then be resized. A new folder will be created name resized_to_{resolution}
