How do I install Google Earth in Ubuntu
To install Google Earth visit http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html and download the GoogleEarthLInux.bin file

Open you terminal and locate the the GoogleEarthLinux.bin file. In my case it was in the downloads folder, so I used the following command:

cd /home/{username}/Downloads

After this I entered the following command to Install Google Earth

sh GoogleEarthLinux.bin

After this a dialogue will appear on Screen. Click the Begin Install button and let Google Earth install.

After Installation Google Earth can be started from Applications >> Internet Menu

Over the last few years the reliability of Google Earth in Ubuntu has improved. It is now as good or better than the Windows version, and is another reason to ditch Windows.
