What version of Ubuntu am I running?
To find out what version of Ubuntu you are running open the terminal and enter the following command:-

lsb_release -a

It will display the following information in the terminal:

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
Codename: intrepid
